Jim Edwards
Jim Edwards was admitted to the California (inactive) bar in 1997 and North Carolina in 2000 and is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. concentrates his practice on intellectual property law including electronics and computer technology patent solicitation. He earned a Bachelor of Science, summa cum laude, in Materials Engineering with a concentration in semiconductor materials and metallurgy in 1983 from North Carolina State University. He attended Santa Clara University School of Law where he earned his Juris Doctorate in 1997. Prior to joining the legal profession Jim spent thirteen years with Texas Instruments in an engineering capacity supporting semiconductor and defense systems technologies. As a patent attorney since 1997, Jim has extensive private practice intellectual property law experience, with an emphasis on securing patent protection in the software, telecommunications, computer network, materials science, electrical, and electromechanical arts and transactional experience in representing company interests in negotiating intellectual property rights. Professional memberships include the North Carolina Bar Association, the Mecklenburg County Bar Association, and Carolina Patent, Trademark & Copyright Law Association and is a 2003 graduate of the Mecklenburg County Bar Leadership Institute. |
