Carlos Garritano
Carlos Garritano primarily focuses on preparation and prosecution of patent applications. He has drafted numerous applications (e.g., provisionals, non-provisionals, continuations, continuations-in-part, etc.) in a broad spectrum of technological areas. In particular, Carlos has a vast amount of experience in radio frequency identification (RFID), semiconductors, data search, handwriting recognition, wireless security, industrial safety, portable device applications, picture slide show applications, data communications, wireless technologies, data bases, industrial automation, electronics, and computer hardware/software. In addition to drafting applications, Carlos has prepared several replies to the USPTO (e.g., non-final office action, final office action, reply to advisory action, appeal brief, reply brief, etc.) as well as oral hearings to further advocate and achieve application allowance. Prior to pursuing a career in Intellectual Property Law, Carlos worked as a Summer Intern at LTV Steel, gaining experience at various departments (e.g., Tandem Mill, Central Maintenance, and the DHCC Castor). The work as a Summer Intern at LTV Steel provided knowledge associated with computer programming within the Industrial environment, electrical power station computer programs/applications (e.g., real-time monitoring of power consumption), electrical component/circuit wiring and problem solving, and project/managerial skills. Subsequently, Carlos earned his Juris Doctorate from The Ohio State University, Michael E. Moritz College of Law where he received the ABA-BNA Award for Excellence in the Study of Intellectual Property Law based on in-depth studies and success within Intellectual Property Law. Thereafter, Carlos joined Amin, Turocy & Calvin LLP as an Associate. |
