Laura Ulatowski Laura Ulatowski received a Bachelor of Science degree, magna cum laude, in Biomedical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University. She participated in the accelerated BS/MS program and earned her Master of Science Degree in Biomedical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University as a Case Prime Fellow. Laura subsequently achieved PhD Candidacy in Biomedical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University. Her coursework spanned Biomedical, Chemical and Electrical Engineering, and she completed a specialty sequence in medical devices, specifically focusing on electrochemical and optical biosensors. At Case Western Reserve University, Laura participated in research in the Biosensors Laboratory, the Retinal Advanced Research and Engineering Laboratory, and the Neural Engineering Center. In the Biosensors Laboratory, Laura participated in projects dealing with cancer biology, cellular modeling, confocal microscopy, blood glucose sensors and bio-MEMs. In the Retinal Advanced Research and Engineering Laboratory, she participated in projects dealing with vision, mathematical modeling and ion channel biology. In the Neural Engineering Center, she participated in projects dealing with neurobiology, neural prosthesis, electrode and waveform design for neural prosthesis, and tissue damage during neural stimulation. Laura received a Juris Doctor degree from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law. During law school, Laura was a senior editor of the I/S Journal for Law and Policy for the Information Society, and her note, “Recent Developments in RFID Technology: Weighing Utility Against Potential Privacy Concerns,” was published at 3 ISJLP 623 (2007-2008). Also during law school, she completed a judicial externship with Judge Gregory Frost of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio. She also was a member of the moot court team. Laura joined the firm in 2008 as an associate upon graduation from law school. At the firm, she has drafted and prosecuted applications in electrical, computer, business methods, chemical, biomedical, and mechanical technologies. Laura is admitted to the State Bar of Ohio and is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. |
